Valley Forge

In August of 2016 Sullivan's Bridge opened. This is a pedestrian bridge linking the Schuylkill River Trail to the Valley Forge National Historical Area. The area is great for riding with low speed limit roads with good visibility. There are also plenty of paved paths sometimes along the roads and other times following a different route. The best part is picturesque landscapes with historical significance.

A video of a recent ride my be found at Mark's Bike Tock YouTube channel.

Ghost Town Trail

Ghost Town is a 36 mile trail that runs from Blacklick to Ebensburg, PA. It runs along the former Ebensburg & Blacklick Railroad right of way. The trail passes old iron furnaces and abandoned towns, hence the name. I have only ridden a portion of the trail but I hope to return in the future to ride the entire trail. More information about the trail may be found at the Indiana County Parks website.

The Ghost Town Trail is also the #4 trail of the top 10 trails in Pennsylvania according to the rails-to-trails conservancy.

Chester Valley Trail

Chester Valley is a 14 miles paved trail located outside of Philadelphia. It runs from King of Prussia to the Great Valley and Exton. The next phase of the trail is currently being designed and will extend the trail another 4 miles to connect to the Schuylkill River Trail.

The website for Chester County has more information.

Update
The trail has been extended and as of March 2023 reaches the Schuylkill River Trail. A trail junction center is planned for the intersection of the Chester Valley Trail with the Schuylkill River Trail. Learn more about this future center here
A video of my ride on the extension may be viewed here.
