About me

I am a retired professor of engineering technology at a community college. I enjoy riding my bike on car free trails. I am especially happy riding a trail I have never been on before. I ride 3000+ miles per year and so far have been on over 120 trails across 34 states. I have ridden in temperatures from 10 degrees F to 115 degrees F. You can follow me on Strava. Search for Mark Rutkowski, Nanticoke.

I ride a comfort hybrid, specifically a Giant Roam 2. I have upgraded the groupset to a Shimano Deore 10 speed cassette and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. I have also added a Brooks saddle and a handlebar bag for long rides. I use a hitch mount Küat bike rack on my car.

In July of 2017 I added another bike, a Giant Fast Road CoMax. I also outfitted this bike with a Brooks saddle.

In June of 2024 I added still another, a Seven Sola SL. This will likely replace my Giant Roam 2.
